Application
It is used for measuring plasterboard stability in case of fire, and can also be applied to other building materials, decoration materials, and fire prevention performance measurement.
Test Introduction
The test involves drilling and processing under prescribed conditions. The sample is suspended between two fire nozzles with a support rod, making the fire nozzles perpendicular to the surface of the sample. Liquefied petroleum gas is used as the heat source to supply gas to the two burners of the fire stability tester. The distance between the burner nozzle and the plate surface is 30mm.
A load is suspended at the lower end of the specimen as per the standard and the burner is ignited. The temperature is measured at a distance of 5mm from the plate surface using a thermocouple. During the initial stage of the test, any carbonized protective paper that has fallen onto the thermocouple should be removed without shaking the sample.
Through adjustment, the temperature is controlled at (800±30)℃ within 3 minutes and maintained at this temperature throughout the test. Timing begins from the moment the specimen is exposed to fire until it breaks and fails. The time taken for each specimen to be burned off is recorded, and the minimum value among five specimens is taken as the fire stability of this group of specimens, accurate to 1 minute.
